Serj Tankian, the visionary frontman for multi-platinum rock band System Of A Down, will hit the road in the U.S. for a series of tour dates in support of his debut solo album "Elect The Dead." Having completed a tour of the U.S. in late 2007 with friend and Axis of Justice partner, guitarist Tom Morello, Tankian will perform five headlining solo dates beginning February 11th in Atlanta, followed by a series of shows supporting Foo Fighters, with whom he recently toured in the U.K. The solo headlining tour will resume on March 8th and run through March 21st. See below for all dates.

"Elect The Dead" was released on October 23, 2007 by Serjical Strike/Reprise Records, and debuted at Number 1 on Billboard's Hard and Alternative charts, Number 2 on the Rock chart, Number 4 on the Top 200 chart, and Number 5 on the Digital chart. The first single, "Empty Walls," was a hit at Alternative and Rock radio, as well as Elite 8 on MTV2, and Heavy Rotation on Fuse. The second single, "Sky Is Over," will impact radio on January 28th.

"Elect The Dead" has received glowing reviews from various media outlets including The Los Angeles Times, which called it "brutally engaging guitar-rock" with "steely lyricism and throttling textures." Rolling Stone noted that it "delivers amped, intricate, and political hard rock," while Kerrang declared it "a remarkable album." Tankian produced "Elect The Dead" himself and played most of the instruments, though he was joined by guest drummers John Dolmayan (SOAD) and Brian "Brain" Mantia (Guns N' Roses, Primus). .
